Who, What, Where, When, and Why
BMETWorld is the brainchild of Stephen Walker. With fee-based tools aplenty such as M.E.T.A., AAMI, and ECRI, I decided that the BMET community needed a free set of tools at their disposal. Aside from that, I have had a difficult time tracking down relevant information from a variety of sources and my goal is to bring them all together under one roof or at least make it easier to find what you are look for. This is a side project and I need your help identifying the tools you need and collecting the information. If you would like to help, please use the Contact form to send me a message.
Who am I?
I am a twenty year Air Force veteran who spent most of my time as a BMET. I entered the Air Force in 1981, attended the course at Sheppard AFB and was lucky enough to go to be assigned to the Wiesbaden Regional Medical Equipment Repair Center. I had a brief break (6 years) from the BMET world and worked as a Russian Interpreter doing inspections of chemical weapons facilities while assigned to the On-Site Inspection Agency (now DTRA). In 1996, I was assigned to the Air Force Medical Logistics Office in Maryland and retired from the Air Force in 2002. I am currently employed as a civil servant and have the privilege of being the team chief of the Biomedical Maintenance Program which is part of the Air Force Clinical Engineering office.
I have been fortunate over the past few years to become acquainted with ColdFusion® and other products by Adobe. This site is built with ColdFusion version 9, Dreamweaver, and SQL Server 2008. In addition to the foundation technologies I have to thank the contributions of others for making this possible. Not all are free, but deserve the recognition:
